After we downsized in October 2015, we always had in mind to completely refurbish the very tired small kitchen that was in the house. In September 2016 we contacted Tim Naisbett, now the boss of Distinctive Interiors, who had fitted a beautiful kitchen for us back in 2008.
This time my wife set him the challenge to increase the limited work surface area and to maximise the storage space while creating the impression of a larger kitchen. After the initial visit to make measurements, Tim produced some 2D plans and 3D simulations which were very helpful in discussions. After more visits and emails, we agreed on a good design compromise leaving us to visit his showroom to agree materials, colours and appliances. We placed the order on 2nd February 2017 with a 25% deposit and he started the work with a 50% payment on 7th March after delivery of all components. Having no utility room to use as a kitchen, we moved out for 3 weeks during which time Tim completed the large amount of preparation, new plumbing, new ceiling, rewiring and new lighting, wall tiling and of course fitting the units and concealing the floor standing appliances. He also lost two days to allow the floor tiler to complete his work. We happily made the final 25% payment on March 28th on completion.
We are absolutely delighted with the quality of the components and the workmanship. We are happy that he achieved our original design objectives and would not hesitate to recommend Tim and his company to others.
From the start of the process, Tim filled us with confidence. He was clearly very knowledgeable about the appliances and fittings but was not at all pushy and there was no hard sell. When it came to fitting the kitchen he did all the work himself and was a perfectionist. We are delighted with our new kitchen!

The final design you come up with is fantastic. The construction in the kitchen made it a bit difficult to plan, but the end design was better than we could of imagined.
The quality of the units and the workmanship in fitting is fantastic.
We are so happy with the end result and are really enjoying our new kitchen. It is by far our favourite room in the house.
